A wonderful Seachtain na Gaeilge was held in St. Mary's the lead up to St. Patrick's weekend.
We hosted:
- Tráth na gCeist
- Toraíocht Taisce
- Céilí Mór
It was great to welcome hundreds of local primary school children to the school for these events, to meet our students and teachers, to have fun and enjoy refreshments from our canteen. Our Lady of Consolation, Donnycarney commented:
This week the girls in 5th visited St Mary’s Killester to do a quiz as Gaeilge. The girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They are very familiar with the school as they have kindly hosted us for French lessons this year too.
It was so great to experience a quiz through our native language. As the old saying goes “beatha teanga í a labhairt” which means the life of a language is to speak it'

Thanks to our student leaders who helped out throughout the week and to the teachers who planned the activities for several weeks.
We wish our school community an enjoyable St. Patrick's Day.
