We hope everyone had a lovely summer. We want to bring some reminders to your attention as we prepare for the new school term.
School Retrofit
The school has been undergoing a multi-million-euro energy retrofit project over the summer break. The works, when complete, will transform our building into a warm, comfortable learning space with an excellent ventilation system. It will also provide a face-lift to the outer façade of the building.
The works commenced in June and great progress has been made in recent weeks. Work will continue until early in the new year and will be managed so as not to interfere with teaching and learning. The investment indicates the Department of Education’s commitment to the ongoing development of St. Mary’s as a centre of learning in the area and we appreciate your support and cooperation while the works are ongoing.
Amenity Fees
Amenity fees covering a range of student services (e.g., locker, school journal, 24-hour insurance, text messaging) are now due and can be paid using the Easy Payment Plus platform.

Booklists for all year groups are available HERE
Uniforms
On a trial basis, students will wear their PE tracksuit on days when they have PE on their timetable. Every other day students must be in their regular school uniform. We hope that this amendment to our policy is successful because it is popular with the students. This will be dependent on cooperation from students, and we would appreciate your support in ensuring that the correct uniforms are worn on the correct days.

Home School Community Liaison Co-ordinator
Ms Dreeling has been appointed to the role of Home School Community Liaison Coordinator. This is an excellent resource to the school community, and she can be reached at sdreeling@hfk.ie if you would like to talk with her about any matter of concern.
School Meals
The school has a breakfast club available to all students free of charge each morning (tea, toast, juice, fruit, yogurt). We will soon be able to subsidise lunches and will provide more information about lunches when the school reopens.
Leaving Certificate Results
Leaving Certificate results will be available online from Friday, September 2nd.
