Parents and Student Surveys

Thanks to everyone who participated in our surveys this week. We had an overwhelming response, thank you. We are taking on board all the suggestions you made and thank you for your generous support and gratitude. We are already moving to implement changes based on your feedback. We will publish the main findings and our response plan in next week’s newsletter.

Student Wellbeing

The following supports are in place to support students’ wellbeing:

  • Year Heads are tracking and monitoring student engagement and following up with students on a one-to-one basis every day.
  • The Deputy Principal is liaising with parents around wellbeing concerns and coordinating supports from within our team.
  • Our Special Needs Assistants are connecting in with students daily to support them around organisational skills, time management and wellbeing.
  • Ms. Thakarar is continuing to engage with students and provides a weekly programme of physical education.
  • Ms. Hynes our Guidance Counsellor is providing support counselling to students requiring one-to-one support.
  • Our psychotherapist, Susan, is continuing to engage with students requiring therapy and is meeting students within the guidelines of what is permitted under level 5 restrictions.
  • Jigsaw, the agency which supports youth mental health is continuing to provide talk therapy. Information about how you can access their supports are available at this link:https://jigsaw.ie/talk-online/
  • If you have concerns about your daughter’s wellbeing and would like to speak to us, please do not hesitate to email your daughter’s Year Head or call the main office and request a call back. We will happily help in whatever way we can.
  • The Department of Education has provided the following guidance document for parents: A Guide for Parents on supporting children and young people with daily routines while schools are closed. It can be downloaded HERE
