WEEK 9 Remote and In-school Teaching and Learning

19-March-21
WEEK 9 Remote and In-school Teaching and Learning

5th Year Students Return to School

Well done to our fifth year students on their return to school. We were delighted to see the girls back in school and grateful for their cooperation and respect in following the essential protocols.

Junior Cycle Assembly

Thanks to everyone who attended the 3rd year assembly this week. Our students learned about the assessment process for Junior Cycle and protocols for the safe return to school. 3rd years are expected to return to school on April 12th.

1st Year Parent Teacher Meeting

The First Year Parent Teacher meeting will take place next week. Parents of first year students will receive a telephone call from a teacher who will provide a progress report.

Additional Support

We are currently setting up additional support classes for students who feel they need to catch up following the last few weeks of remote learning. For various reasons, some students may not have been able to engage fully and we are now offering one-to-one and small group classes to support those students to get back on track with their learning. If you feel that your daughter can benefit from additional support, please email sdreeling@hfk.ie

Easter Holidays

The school will close for Easter on Friday, March 26th. The school will reopen again on April 12th.

Return to school 1st, 2nd, 3rd and TY Students

We plan to welcome all remaining year groups back to the school on April 12th. We await government guidance on this but we are optimistic that all students will be back.

Transition Year News

The young Social Innovation Projects are coming to an end next week and TY students have been very busy creating interesting video clips which highlight the important message of 'Ending Child Labour'

We will be celebrating TY students who have made an outstanding contribution to project work this term at a special assembly. We intend to recognise, reward and celebrate a number of highly motivated and engaged students.

Students are encouraged to use the remaining time of online learning in a constructive way and to strive to grow and develop intellectually and artistically.

We remind students of the need to stay focused on safety and to only engage in socially distanced interactions over the Easter holidays.

6th Year Oral Examinations

Irish orals will commence next Friday, March 26th. Spanish and French will take place on Monday, March 29th.

Thanks to everyone for another great week!
