WEEK 7 Remote and In-school Teaching and Learning

04-March-21
WEEK 7 Remote and In-school Teaching and Learning

Leaving Certificate Students Return

This week we welcomed back our Leaving Certificate class for in-person teaching and learning. It was great to see them return and we applaud them for their sense of responsibility and maturity in supporting the school’s efforts in implementing all the health and safety protocols required to keep the school opened. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate parents in the school building at this time and parents are asked to observe the drop and collect procedures in the interest of public safety.

Phased Reopening of Schools

Monday 15 March is the target date for the return to in-school provision for fifth year Leaving Certificate students. This date will be reviewed during the period following 1 March.

Monday 12 April, following the Easter break is the target date for the return to in-school education of the rest of post-primary students – first to fourth year students.

HPV Vaccinations

The HPV Vaccination Programme for Academic Year 2020-21 is being suspended due to Covid-19. We will be in touch with you when the programme is resumed.

Engineering Week

Rollercoaster Competition!

STEPS Engineers week takes place February 27th - March 5th 2021.

We are challenging the creative and engineering skills of our junior Science classes to create a paper rollercoaster and test it using a small ball or marble. A photo or video of your rollercoaster in action should be sent to your Science Teacher by Tuesday March 9th. A small prize will be given to the winner in each class.

DCU is also hosting a series of free virtual, interactive talks, demos and live tours that will cover a wide range of topics from designing a mobile robot to sustainability and climate change. Some of the 4th year students are taking part.
