As the State Examinations draw to a close for 2022, we congratulate all our students on the commitment they have shown to their studies in preparation for the Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate exams.
We want to bring some reminders and news items to your attention as we wind down for the summer break:
School Office
The school Office will be closed from June 29th- August 10th, 2022.
Booklists
Booklists for all year groups are available HERE
Amenity Fees
Amenity fees covering a range of student services (e.g., locker, school journal, 24-hour insurance, text messaging) can be paid using the Easy Payment Plus platform.
School Retrofit
The school has been chosen for a multi-million-euro energy retrofit project. The works will transform our building into a warm, comfortable learning space for our students with an excellent ventilation system and a face-lift to the outer façade of the building. The work will commence in June and will be managed so as not to interfere with teaching and learning when we return for the school year. The multi-million-euro investment indicates the Department of Education’s commitment to the ongoing development of St. Mary’s as a centre of learning in the area.
In the interests of health and safety and to facilitate the building works, the school will be out of bounds during the summer holidays.

Home School Community Liaison Co-ordinator

Reports were issued on 16 June 2022 and can be accessed on the VSware platform.
Standardised testing for incoming first years
Incoming first year students will participate in standardised testing on Friday, August 27. This is in lieu of the entrance test that could not take place in January due to high levels of Covid-19. The tests provide information to the school to support student learning.
Books and Lockers
There are a number of students who have yet to empty their lockers. The school will be open on Wednesday 22 June. 2022 and Monday 27 June 2022 from 11am to 3pm to collect books and allow lockers to be sanitized for the new school year.
