Remote Learning

19-April-20
Remote Learning

We hope everyone had a nice Easter break and managed to get outdoors to enjoy the fine weather.

As you will be aware, following guidance from the Chief Medical Officer schools will remain closed at least until May 5th. Remote teaching and learning will resume for all students on Monday, April 20th and updated information regarding alternative summer assessments (if schools remain closed) will follow in the coming days. We look forward to re-engaging with all our students in the morning.

We await further clarification regarding arrangements for the Leaving Certificate and are informed that a revised timetable will issue in June. In the meantime we will support students in every way possible to reach their full potential.

Ms Gilligan has compiled the following list of online resources for students:

Revise.ie has launched a new initiative for students. FREE online classes are now available for all students covering a wide range of subjects. The classes operate from 9.20am to 4.20pm each weekday. Students can attend virtual lessons for the day by booking their place in the classroom via Zoho Showtime, which is similar to Zoom. for further information please visit this Free Online Classes

2. CJ Fallon, EDCO Learning, Folens, Gill Education and Educate Plus are also giving free access to their online materials during the Covid-19 pandemic.

4. PDST.ie and Scoilnet have a huge number of resources for all subjects.

5. Twitter.com provides a lot of educational material.

Who would have thought when we started out this school year in August that we would find ourselves in this extraordinary situation? We applaud all of our students for their commitment, patience, engagement and resilience during this unprecedented global health crisis. We thank the parents for supporting your efforts at this time and we remind each other daily that 'this too shall pass.'
