AGM
The Parents Association AGM will take place on ZOOM on Wednesday, October 5th, 2022 at 7pm. We look forward to hearing our guest speaker for the evening Monica Rowe of Key Conversations. See information HERE. All parents are invited.
Lunches
We are now providing free and subsidised lunches. Students can get soup and a roll, filled cold rolls, water and fruit or a subsidy towards a hot dinner.
Breakfasts are also available each morning free of charge.
Dining Area
The Board of Management has purchased some dining furniture so that our students can have a comfortable place to eat their lunches.

Glendalough
Transition Year students completed one section of their Gaisce Bronze challenge at Glendalough this week. The students undertook a 12kms hike and
Clontarf Baths
Fifth year students took the plunge into the baths at Clontarf on Tuesday September 27th. It was only 'a little bit' cold and a great time was had by all! The swim marked European Week of Sport. A huge thank you to Gearoid Fallon from Swim Ireland and John Sweeney from Dublin City Council for the amazing opportunity.
Anti Bullying
The Board of Management must undertake an annual review of the school’s anti-bullying policy and its implementation. The review was conducted by the Board on September 19th 2022 and a notification can be viewed HERE.
The school had an external review of all procedures in 2021 and met all the requirements in relation to implementing the Anti-Bullying Procedures for Primary and Post-primary Schools (2013).
Gaelic Training
Gaelic Training resumed this week with record numbers of girls participating. Thanks to Ms Leetch (Coach) and Ms O'Neill (Assistant Coach).
First Year workshop
As part of their transfer programme, First Year students participated in a workshop on Wednesday, September 28th facilitated by the outside agency Brainbox. The workshop was entitled: Settling Into Secondary School.
The programme covered topics such as organisational skills, friendship, note making and much more to help students to quickly adapt to life in St. Mary's. Each student received a Settling Into Secondary School survival guide packed with organisational tips and useful advice on health and well-being.
Standardised Testing
Well done to all students who sat their standardised test on Friday, September 23rd. The students worked very hard and were very attentive.
A standardised test for all second years will be held on Friday, October 7th, 2022 from 9am until 12noon. Students will not have normal classes on this day and will go home directly after the test.
First Year Coffee Morning
Thanks to Ms Dreeling and Ms Smullen for organising a special coffee morning for first year parents on Tuesday, September 27th.

Basketball
Well done to the under19 and under 16s Basketball teams for two great wins against against St Mary's Baldoyle. Congratulations to our players and coach Ms Thakarar.
School Building
Our building works are progressing well. The next stage of the works will involve a full replacement of all windows in the school.

6th Year students attended the Higher Options careers exhibition in the RDS to kick start their planning for progression to higher and further education.
