Arrangements for incoming 1st Years

We look forward to welcoming our new 1st year girls to Mary's on Thursday, August 27th. Although we are in challenging times, we will welcome each girl to the school with the same enthusiasm, hope and positivity as any other year and we will do it safely keeping the wellbeing of each girl at the centre of our planning.

We wish to outline here the arrangements for Day One:

  1. Students should arrive from 9am onwards. Induction begins at 9.30am
  2. Parents who are driving to the school should arrive via Brookwood Meadow and drop students off at the boundary of our car park where our student leaders will meet and greet the girls and bring them to the building. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 restriction, parents cannot enter the building at this time.
  3. Students walking to the school can enter via Brookwood Meadow or St. Brigid's Road (pedestrian access only)
  4. Students must wear a face mask
  5. Students do not need books on this day but can bring a storage box if they wish to store their books in a base class when term begins
  6. Students will work with their class group and will be provided with induction around the following:
  • Welcome
  • Meet the team (Tutor and Year Head)
  • Understanding the timetable
  • Rooms and Facilities
  • One-way system and zoning
  • Microsoft 365 - email and class Team

7. Induction finishes at 11.30am

We look forward to welcoming our new students to the school and to working with parent(s)/guardian(s) over the coming years.
